Welcome to Ashvale Bearded Collies 

My history and involvement with Beardies spans some 30 plus years; a lifetime of passion and dedication to the promotion and preservation of the breed in South Africa. I have owned, shown, bred and loved the breed, and will endeavour to ensure that it lives on,  for generations to come.   Numerous show champions have been made up and Ashvale Beardies have participated across many disciplines as well as served as therapy dogs and featured in both print and television commercials. 

With the preservation of the breed as a priority, many dogs have been imported over the years, to expand the gene pool and ensure that genetic diversity is maintained, something that is of concern to responsible breeders worldwide.

Situated in the heart of Midrand, Gauteng, Shaggy Chic (www.shaggychic.co.za) has become our home and our business. The Beardies welcome all our visitors with true Beardie enthusiasm and tolerance, and everyone who visits us enjoys the wide open space we offer our dogs and visitors.

I collaborate and work in association with Michael Alberts ( Du Ventoux Bearded Collies ) and Karen Furk (Westmilwunda Bearded Collies), who share my vision and breeding ethic.

With this in mind, do note that I am not in any way associated with or involved with the breeding programme of a local kennel which has opted to misuse and misrepresent my kennel name.
